New Years Resolutions

Hey guys,

I hope you all had an amazing christmas together with your loved ones, lots of food and of course some nice presents!
When Christmas is over I always feel like the year is rushing to come to an end. Even though it is less then a week after the Christmas days it feels like time is flying especially fast and woosh the year is over.
I can't believe 2014 comes to an end, it seems like I celebrated New Years Eve two months ago. So much happened in this last year - good and bad - and I can't believe it's almost over. Let me tell you that I am a huge fan of New Years Eve. It's a new chance for everybody somehow and I love getting dressed up for nice New-Years-Partys and every year I spend way to much money on fireworks, but I love it.

With a new year coming up I also have a few new years resolutions, but I don't want to think of the typical: get healthier, get thinner, stop smoking/drinking or whatever. I won't even set myself some ridiculous time limit like: in three months you have to lose 70 pounds. I just want to get these little things done over the year.

  • drink more: and I'm already breaking my rule from above. I really need to start drinking more asap, because it already affects my health. I downloaded a drinking app which reminds me to drink throughout the day and I really need this. Half a liter a day is definitely not enough and I try to change that and hope that drinking will be natural for me and not something I have to me reminded about.
  • be more active: and that doesn't mean I will enter a gym on the first of January, I will take small steps, which I can incorporate in my lifestyle. For example I want to go for a walk twice a week after school (if it is possible with my work schedule) instead of lying on the couch or taking the stairs instead of the lift. Just small stuff like that in the beginning.
  • spend more quality time with my friends: I think this speaks for itself. And by quality time I don't mean visiting them in the evening, having a few drinks and going to the club. I really like those afternoons where me and my friends just meet at a nice café and talk and laugh for hours. I really need more of these!
  • wash my make up off every night: even if I'm tired! I really love make up and putting it on in the morning and everything, but I hate taking it off and I almost never do it. I always think: Oh well, you're to tired, you'll do it tomorrow. But I really want to wash my make up off every night from 2015 on!
  • spend my money on things I really need: My money management is really shitty and I always spend way too much money on stuff I don't really need. For example I sometimes order food just because I'm too lazy to cook and this really needs to stop. I also have to stop myself from buying more and more earrings, especially since I have at least 50 pairs.
  • be more organised: I really am a messy person - I always forget stuff because I forget where I've written it down or lose papers and I don't want to get started on my school supplies. Right now there is a huge pile of worksheets next to me and I will definitely need one of these someday but will never find it again. So I try to become more organised, I already bought a cute pocket planer where I'm going to write everything down.
  • take more pictures: I think this speaks for itself. In my opinion you can never have too many pictures.
  • figure out what to do with my life: and this will be the hardest part of 2015. I study foreign correspondence right now but will be finished in summer and I already know that I don't want to do this in the future so I'm torn between going to Uni or maybe go for a year abroad and if I go to Uni what should I study and if I go abroad where will I go? I have to think about all this stuff I really don't want to think about and finally give my life some direction because right now it is kind of messed up in that way.
So those are my New Years Resolutions, what are yours if you have any? I'd love to read them in the comments!
I hope you all have a great New Years Eve, please be safe when it comes to fireworks and I truly wish you all a happy new year.
See you soon,
Juley
