Hey guys!
Some of you may know that I'm going on holiday to Cape Verde tomorrow evening (okay the plane leaves at 4 am on Friday but my mum and I have to leave tomorrow). I've been there four times for holiday and lived there for three months last summer, so I am really happy to see all of my friends again, relax and lie in the sun for a week.
The weather there will be really warm, but the evenings can be a bit chilly so I had to pack for every occasion. And also, I always overpack! I'd rather have 20 pounds of clothing too much than too little and I like creating different outfits on the spot.
So today while I was choosing what to pack and what to leave at home I thought I could write a post about my packing process.
So we'll start with my bottoms: I'll take one pair of long blue jeans for the evenings (even though I hope I will only need it on the way back home) and long black sweatpants for whatever occasion. I also packed a pair of black leggings, maybe for dinner with a nice blouse.
I really hope I will only wear my shorts so let's go on with them. I packed a pair of light pink hot pants, two pairs of black ones, one pair of shorts with a floral pattern which I actually bought there last summer, as well as the turquoise pair.
There are also to skirts in my suitcase, one plain black one and a denim skirt.
One of my clothing essentials for holidays (despite undergarments of course) are plain shirts. I packed a few with straps and some without.
The other tops I packed variate from 'I'm just going to throw this over my bikini before going to the beach' to 'let's have a fun night out'. I love loose tops with a print for holiday, because you can just throw them over anything and you'll look good to go. And yes, I know that those are way more then I actually need, but as I told you, I like to overpack.
I also packed those two dresses, maybe for a nice dinner or a bar in the evening. The one one the left has a really lovely pattern on the back and the one on the right is kind of boho and I absolutely love it.
Because the evenings might get chilly I needed to pack something with sleeves and I decided for a black hoodie jacket and a denim jacket which I can mix this with almost everything.
Also very important: don't forget your PJs! My mum bought me this before I got back last fall and I wasn't able to wear the shorts because I has been freezing here ever since. I love Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and this PJ is absolutely adorable in my opinion.
I hope I can go to the beach everyday so another essential is my bikini. I love this colour so much, because it looks so awesome with a nice tan. At the moment I only have one bikini, because living 100 feet from the beach and going there everyday and surfing destroyed all the other ones I had.
I also packed two pairs of sunglasses. Again, just usual black ones and some pilot glasses, kind of.
Also I obviously can't leave without are shoes. Throughout the day I always wear flats, but I packed a pair of heels, because I will definitely go to the disco and I know this pair is really comfortable so I can dance all night.
And of course I packed my make up essentials. I'll take my Sleek i-Divine au naturel palette, because I can create a lot of eyeshadow styles. I also took my liquid foundation, even though I will probably not use it, but this is a just-in-case thing. Because my powder isn't dark enough (I tan very easily) a bronzer was is a must-have in my holiday make up bag. Everything else is a from my everyday make up routine, so I don't really change it when I go on holiday.
So, basically that's everything I packed today. Tomorrow I will pack all my other toiletries and my electronic devices like my camera, Kindle, iPod etc.
I'm already really really excited and I would love to drive to the airport right now.
I hope you all have a great a week and if you want to know what I'm doing on holiday you can follow me on Twitter or Instagram (julchen_3101).
See you soon, Juley
